MMIW stands for Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women. It’s a movement that advocates for the end of violence against Native Women. The main purpose of MMIW is to bring awareness to the Indigenous women, the ones who aren’t heard, the ones who don’t receive justice, the ones who’s family’s are now grieving the loss of their mothers, daughters, grandmas, aunties, cousins, and granddaughters and the ones whose stories aren’t being told.
