Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes was photographed with a different look one week after Super Bowl LIX.

Mahomes told AOL in 2019 that the hairstyle was the result of a friendly bet with a buddy when he was younger. They each grew out their hair and wanted to see who would go the longest before finally cutting it. “As I grew it out, I realized that I actually liked it a lot,” Mahomes told AOL Sports. “So, I kept it going.”

Mahomes was recently spotted in public with a new hairstyle. His signature mohawk is gone, and he now has short, curly hair. This is the most drastic change to his hair since he was drafted by the Chiefs in 2017. He has always had the signature mohawk throughout his career.
