Israel’s defence minister says military applying ‘methods’ from Gaza war in major raid on occupied West Bank’s Jenin.

Israel’s military is using lessons from the Gaza war in its new West Bank operation to ensure “terrorism does not return,” according to Defense Minister Israel Katz.

West Bank terrorist groups are a persistent and evolving security challenge for Israel and the Palestinian Authority. These groups’ numbers, arsenals, and capabilities have expanded dramatically since an initial surge of terrorist activity in June 2021.

IDF soldiers, including special operations, ISA, and Border Police personnel will operate in the coming days in the Jenin area.

At least seven Palestinians were killed and 35 others injured in a massive raid by the Israeli army into Jenin, expected to last a few days.

The Israeli army continued a military operation in the northern West Bank city of Jenin for second day in a row on Wednesday. According to witnesses, the Israeli army raided several neighborhoods in the Jenin refugee camp and shelled several sites in the area.

The West Bank city of Jenin was the target of an ongoing Israeli "anti-terror" operation that claimed the lives of at least 10 Palestinians and injured as many as 40 others.

The action came a day after President Donald Trump said he will lift sanctions on ultranationalist Israeli settlers who attacked Palestinian villages.

The Israeli army announced on Tuesday the start of a large-scale anti-terrorist operation in the city of Jenin in the West Bank. The Palestinian Authority's Ministry of Health reported that at least six people were killed and about 35 were injured as a result of the Israeli attacks.
