Reigning Xfinity Series champion Justin Allgaier will head up JR Motorsports' attempt to make its NASCAR Cup Series debut in February, the group announced Wednesday.

This marks the first time JR Motorsports has entered a car in a Cup race and it comes at the event Dale Earnhardt Jr. won twice as a driver.

The NASCAR team owned by Hall of Famer Dale Earnhardt Jr. will attempt to make its Cup Series debut in the Daytona 500 with a champion driver and a partnership with a Grammy Award-winning artist.
