BROOKLYN (CN) — New York Police announced on Tuesday that they have identified the woman who died after being set on fire while sleeping on a Coney Island-bound subway train on Dec. 22. Police said the 57-year-old woman, Debrina Kawam, had a Toms River, New Jersey address.

A woman who died after being set on fire on the New York City subway earlier this month was identified as Debrina Kawam, 57, of Toms River, New Jersey, the New York medical examiner's office said on Tuesday.

The NYPD has identified the woman burned to death on a New York subway as 57-year-old Debrina Kawam of Toms River, New Jersey. Due to severe burns on her body, authorities were able to identify her through dental records.
