Tampa Fire Rescue says crews have capped a ruptured gas line, but traffic along a stretch of 30th Street continues to be impacted on Tuesday afternoon.

TAMPA, Fla. — People are being told to shelter in place in Tampa after a natural gas line ruptured Tuesday morning. Just before 7 a.m. Tuesday, Tampa Fire Rescue reported that crews were on the scene of an 8" natural gas line rupture in Tampa at the intersection of North 30th Street and East Bougainvillea Avenue.

A Shelter-in-place has been issued for residents within a four-block radius of East Bougainvillea Avenue and North 30th Street in Tampa due to a natural gas leak.

Crews are on the scene of a natural gas line rupture Tuesday, shutting down 30th Street at Bougainvillea Avenue and leading to a shelter-in-place notice for the surrounding area, according to Tampa Fire Rescue.
