The 48-year-old Woonsocket man was carrying an Airsoft-type pistol capable of shooting metal projectiles, police say.

A state lawmaker is once again pushing to arm campus police at public colleges statewide after Thursday's incident at the Community College of Rhode Island (CCRI).

Gov. Dan McKee (D-RI) addressed campus security, following a lockdown at the Community College of Rhode Island Flanagan campus in Lincoln Thursday afternoon.

The emergency began with a disturbance, involving the same man, on a RIPTA bus, where passengers said he'd threatened to shoot them.
