Patrick Mahomes and his Kansas City Chiefs lost Super Bowl LIX to the Philadelphia Eagles last Sunday so the week was already tough for the star quarterback. And then, on Friday, his mother, Randi Mahomes, announced that her father, Randy Martin — Patrick’s grandfather — has died.

It was a rough game for the offense and especially quarterback Patrick Mahomes, who completed 21-of-32 passes for 257 yards with three touchdowns and two interceptions, one of which was a pick-six. Most of his yardage and all three TDs came after the Chiefs trailed 34-0 in the third quarter.
