The Chambers Fire in Hemet broke out amid high-powered winds as much of Southern California was under a Red Flag Warning Monday night. But firefighters managed to stop the spread of the flames, keeping them from threatening the nearby Seven Hills community and other parts of Riverside County.

Brush fire breaks out in the midst of high-powered winds in Hemet

The blaze, being called the Chambers Fire, was first reported at around 6:10 p.m. near Chambers Street and Gilbert Street, according to the Cal Fire/Riverside County Fire Department.
