Three of Tanzania's leading newspapers have been banned from publishing their online editions after they ran an animation deemed critical of President Samia Suluhu Hassan. Tanzania has suspended the digital division of the nation’s biggest media house, after it released an animated piece about abductions of people critical of the nation’s leaders.

The government of Tanzania has suspended the license of the Nation Media Group (NMG) subsidiary Mwananchi Communications Limited. Through the Tanzania Communications Regulatory Authority (TCRA), the media company has had its license suspended for the next 30 days.
