Ty Johnson is coming off two straight one-year contracts with the Bills and is an unrestricted free agent. He blossomed in a third-down back role in 2024, finishing with 497 yards from scrimmage and four total touchdowns. Johnson was Buffalo's best running back in pass protection.

But doing so wasn't what mattered most to the Buffalo Bills quarterback. Allen made history with his recent six-year, $350 million extension by receiving more guaranteed money -- $250 million -- than any other player.

The Bills only waited a few hours into the NFL's legal tampering period before inking Josh Palmer -- a big-bodied receiver who should immediately contribute to Buffalo.
