No. 3 Georgia has solidified its position for a first-round bye in the College Football Playoff by beating Alabama in the Southeastern Conference championship game for the first time.

Alabama football entered Saturday’s matchup with Georgia already down a few players. The Crimson Tide lost two more over the course of the game, with linebacker Justin Jefferson and cornerback Zabien Brown both leaving with injuries.
The Hoosiers knocked off top-ranked Ohio State for the Big Ten title, and Duke’s ACC championship game win over Virginia probably delivered James Madison a playoff berth.
