Police in San Jose are investigating a hit-and-run Monday night in which a driver fatally struck a man who had been clearing a tree branch on the road.

A man who was attempting to clear a large branch from a roadway was struck and killed Monday night, according to the San Jose Police Department. SJPD officers responded at around 8:44 p.m. to the area of Bird and Hull avenues on a report of a vehicle versus pedestrian collision.
