Philippine President Ferdinand Marcos has removed Vice President Sara Duterte from the National Security Council, according to an executive order released Friday, a month after she allegedly plotted to kill him.

President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. has reorganized the members of the National Security Council (NSC) to exclude the vice president and past presidents of the country. This restructuring aims to foster "an environment conducive to effective governance and stability.

Up to 300 Afghans arrived in the Philippines on Monday on temporary stays while being processed for US resettlement, Philippine and US officials said.
