DETROIT – Staying in a multi-team playoff chase requires solid goaltending, and the Detroit Red Wings are getting that from Cam Talbot. Talbot stepped up again Sunday in a 2-1 victory over the Florida Panthers, enabling the Red Wings to keep pace with the Montreal Canadiens heading into Tuesday’s huge game at the Bell Centre.
Josh Anderson scored the winner with 9:12 remaining in the third period and Sam Montembeault made 35 saves as the Montreal Canadiens beat the Detroit Red Wings 4-1 on Tuesday night for their sixth straight win.
â–ª The Panthers scored four goals in a non-shootout game for the first time since March 8 against Buffalo, snapping a run of 14 consecutive games scoring three goals or fewer (there is a 4-3 shootout win over Pittsburgh on March 23 mixed in there).
