Southwest Airlines is shedding 36 Boeing 737-800 aircraft in a sale-leaseback transaction that will bring the airline nearly $900 million. Southwest on Monday said the deal with aircraft lessor Babcock & Brown Aircraft Management is part of the multi-year fleet monetization strategy the Dallas company unveiled in September 2024.
