DJs for peace and positivity. That's the goal for those who want to see change after the Five Points South mass shooting a week ago. On Monday evening, some DJs were taking turns playing positive music to drive out the darkness.

Gunmen shot into a group of people in a popular entertainment district in what appeared to be a targeted attack, the police said. The authorities are still looking for the shooters.

On Friday night, a candlelight memorial will honor a 21-year-old mother who was shot and killed in a mass shooting over the weekend. Anitra Holloman, 21, was killed in a mass shooting that left four dead and 17 injured Saturday outside of Hush Lounge in the Five Points South neighborhood.

The victim in a fatal shooting in Birmingham's West End community late Saturday night has been identified. It happened just after 9:30 p.m., in the 1400 block of 1st Avenue W, according to the Birmingham Police Department. That's in the Rising-West Princeton neighborhood, just blocks away from Rickwood Field.
